"Health is wealth" is a snappy phrase many people take to heart. Not only do you save money from healthy lifestyle choices, but you also reap multiple benefits, such as living a longer life. Several studies have found various factors contributing to longer lifespans, such as eating healthy foods, avoiding addictive substances, and regular exercise. On top of that, where you live could influence your lifestyle choices, as well. Access to fresh food, health care, open-air spaces, and exercise facilities are just some concerns for people considering moving to a new location.

That's why 24/7 Tempo revealed which city has the highest life expectancy in every state. Analysts broke down how they compiled the list:

"To determine the cities in every state where people live the longest, 24/7 Tempo reviewed data on life expectancy in U.S. metropolitan areas from County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. Additional data on smoking rate, physical inactivity, and insufficient sleep also came from the 2023 CHR."

According to the study, the Seattle metropolitan area, which includes Bellevue and Tacoma, has the highest life expectancy in Washington. The average life expectancy is 81.08 years, compared to the state average of 80.21 years. Niche also ranked Seattle high in health and fitness and outdoor activities.
