With a strong teen female fan base, singer/songwriter Austin Mahone’s career has bolted to high gear with his debut single, “11:11,” as well as popular hit song, “Say Somethin’.” For Bridgit Mendler, songwriting started at the age of six, catapulting her to star in Disney Channel’ “Good Luck Charlie,” singing the show’s theme song. While she started her career as an actress, her singing career has taken off strong.
Austin was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 4, 1996, and only got to know his father for 16 months, when he passed away. Austin rose in popularity in 2011 thanks to viral videos of his performances, which caused him to switch from traditional school to be home schooled.
Mahone debuted at #38 on the Billboard Social 50 chart in September 2011. He was the youngest to ever appear on the list. He rose to #28 on the list by the beginning of December.
His debut single “11:11” was released on February 14, 2012, and his second single, "Say Somethin" was released on August 30, 2012. With a fan based dominated by teenage girls, it was natural for Taylor Swift to ask Austin to be an opening act in her Red Tour. For further information, visit www.austinmahone.com.
