So, it has been brought to my attention that the Super Bowl is long over and it is time to update this page; well, here I am......updating; hope you're enjoying it so far.  I appreciate you taking this journey with me, the sky is the limit with this post; we can talk about traffic, basketball, soccer, the NFL combine......see, the possibilities are endless.  We can talk about cooking, exercise, golf, Mariners Spring training......wine, wine tasting, shopping, tolling... hiking?  We could talk about politics and religion, but that just leads to angry people and comments, so let's leave those alone.  So, here we go, the topic list is plentiful, so let's dive right in-

Traffic- actually looks pretty good today, so I can't complain.  There have been added issues on NB 405 north of Totem Lake, I think it has to do with the construction there, so be careful.  Good advice, I know. You're welcome.

Basketball- the Huskies have been frustrating to say the least, but if last year was any indication, the only thing that matters is winning the Pac-12 tourney, so they're still in it.  The Cougars....well, same issue there.  The Kings/Sonics.....where to begin.  Every week there's some new semi-news out of Sacramento.  It's too much.  I have decided to just sit back and wait before I freak out and celebrate or throw a chair through a window.  Side note, it might be fun to do both.

Soccer- The US is trying to qualify for the World Cup- that caused some confusion this year, since the qualifier is CONCACAF and that's something the Sounders tend to play for; so to set the record straight, the Sounders will not be playing for the World Cup, although Eddie Johnson & Brad Evans are on the US roster.  Hope that clears things up.

NFL combine- I don't watch it.  I have heard about it and from what I have heard, I can summarize this year's combine like this- Desmond Trufant ran really fast.  Manti Te'o did not.  Again, you're welcome.

Cooking- I made a dinner for my husband and sister-in-law dinner on Sunday...they didn't like it.....back to the drawing board.

Excercise- I have failed to go to the gym so far this week....on a positive note, I worked out lots in Palm Springs last week....I hope it carries over.

Golf- I was in Palm Springs with the hubby and friends on a golf trip the boys won playing in the Cascade Cup.  It was awesome.  I didn't play any golf, but I drove them back and forth from the course, drank by the pool and watched golf on TV.  Close enough.

Mariners Spring Training- it's going on now in Peoria.....it was cold there last week.  The Mariners are hitting lots of home runs right now....perhaps they will be the offensive juggernaut we all know they can be.  No, I am not drunk right now.

Which brings us to our next topic-

Wine- I drink it.  Red, white and sprakling; I don't discriminate.  I do believe it is a sign of my maturity however, that I no longer drink any wine handed to me.  If I don't like it, I don't drink it.....unless I am already drunk.

That's why I like wine tasting-

See how I transitioned there? Wine tasting is one of my favorite past times!  The Passport to Woodinville is one of the best events to do this locally.....check it out.

Shopping- I am a woman, I enjoy shopping now and again.....especially if I get to shop with someone else's money....that's super fun.  When it's my own money, I walk around with 85 things and slowly talk myself out of all of them.  This happened just last week at Ross in La Quinta, but fear not; there was no talking myself out of the wooden Buddha.  That things a keeper.

Tolling- the state wants to toll I-90.  As a former resident of Mercer Island and someone who occasionally travels across the lake, I think this is an awful idea.  I think many people agree with me.  That is all.

Hiking- I went hiking when I was 9 and got bit in the back of the leg by a horse fly.  Then the paddle boat we put together came apart in the lake while my friend was on it.  I will be honest, I am glad it wasn't me in that icy water; hadn't I suffered enough at the hands of the fly with horse teeth?  I think we can all agree on that.

Well, that's all for today, can't wait until our next topical rendez-vous.
